Saponin,Aritha and Shikakai

What does Aritha and Shikakai have in common?
Well it's saponins. The soapy "sudsy" substance formed when water is added. Both Aritha and Shikakai have saponins. Both of these powdered herbs are used as natural shampoos in india. Aritha has a higher saponin content than shikakai. Saponins are also antifungal and antimicrobial.
